Description
Nature's Way is one of a series of films produced by the Appalachian Educational Media Project, an Appalshop film training program funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and private foundations. John Long directed and edited Nature's Way. It was his first experience directing a film. Elizabeth Barret (Long Journey Home, Stranger With a Camera) was given her first camera assignment when the crew found out at the last minute that only women would be allowed to film the childbirth. Ben Zickafoose and Bert Morgan also worked on the production. The film was shot in eastern Kentucky and southwestern Virginia during the summer of 1973.
