- Description
- Headwaters airs a video made by the Women’s Film Project. The video examines the problems with enforcement of the Pregnancy Discrimination Act through interviews with doctors, lawyers, workers and union officials. It explains a woman's rights and documents how women workers can gain these rights by highlighting the story of one group of factory workers and their fight for maternity benefits. At the end of the program women from Appalachia discuss their experiences being pregnant working women. One of the women worked as a coal miner and the program includes photos of her working in the mines while pregnant.
