Kentucky native John Harrod is a distinguished collector and performer of his home state's musical traditions. His collection of nearly 300 audiovisual recordings of Kentucky fiddlers, banjo players, and singers is now held in archives at both Berea and Morehead colleges. On this album, Harrod draws from this collection to play 22 of his favorite tunes passed on to him by "the last generation of fiddlers to have learned their music before phonograph records and radio changed everything."
