Recordings for JA0074, Seedtime on the Cumberland Volume III, were made and mixed by Doug Dorschug from 1987-94 with the help of Kelly Blair, Tom Hansel, Don Mussell, Marty Newell, and Mike Sloan. The release, made possible by the support of the National Endowment for the Arts and the Ford Foundation, was produced and released in 1998 by Rich Kirby and Doug Dorschug. Musicians included Whit Sizemore and the Shady Mountain Ramblers, Jean and Edna Ritchie, Etta Baker, Owen "Snake" Chapman, Macedonia Choir, Elaine Purkey, Whitetop Mountain Band, Clyde Davenport, Hallelujah Singers, Walker Calhoun, Joe Thompson, Lee Sexton and Marion Sumner, the Lee Sexton Band, Ethel Austin, Sheila Kay Adams, Home Folks, Morgan Sexton, Melvin Wine, Nat Reese, Earl Gilmore, Singing Revelations, and Fred O'Quinn.
