Dusty Miller was a five-piece bluegrass band from East Tennessee, consisting of Adam Steffey on mandolin, Tim Stafford on guitar, Tammy Steffey on fiddle, Barry Bales on bass, and Brian Fester on banjo. Three members, Adam Stefey, Tim Stafford, and Barry Bales were later recruited by Alisson Krauss to join her successful band Union Station.
Recordings for the release JA0057, Dusty Miller, were recorded at Classic Recording in Bristol, Virginia in January of 1989 by Bandy Brownlee. The release was produced by Dusty Miller and Dennis White, and mixed by Bandy Brownlee and Dusty Miller. Musicians included Adam Steffey on mandolin, and lead and harmony vocals; Tim Stafford on guitar, and lead and harmony vocals; Tammy Steffey on fiddle, and lead and harmony vocals; Barry Bales on bass, and harmony vocals; and Brian Fester on banjo.
