The Buzzard Rock String Band were a group of six musicians from the Land Between The Lakes Region of Kentucky. The band included Jeff Gushin on fiddle, Harry Bickel on banjo, Jim Webb on guitar, Mike Schroeder on mandolin and fiddle, Bruce Krohmer on clarinet, and John Schroeder on bass. They performed on NPR on "The Flea Market" and "Mountain Stage," and at the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Lonesome Pine Special Concert Series, Louisville Bluegrass Festival, and the Kentucky Fried Chicken Bluegrass Festival.
Recordings for the release JA0054, Got the Blues, were recorded March 12-13, 1988 by Doug Dorschug at Audio Visions in Louisville, Kentucky. The release was produced by D. Gregory White. Musicians included Harry Bickel on banjo and vocals; Jeff Gushin on fiddle and vocals; Bruce Krohmer on clarinet and saxophone; Mike Schroeder on mandolin; "Norton" John Schroeder on bass and vocals; and Jim Webb on guitar.
