Larry Sparks (born September 15, 1947) is a bluegrass singer and guitarist. Sparks was born and raised in Lebanon, Ohio. He joined the Stanley Brothers in 1964, and after Carter Stanley died in 1966 he played guitar as a Clinch Mountain Boy in Ralph Stanley's group. In late 1969, he formed his group The Lonesome Ramblers and began recording for Pine Tree Records. He was the winner of the 2004 and 2005 International Bluegrass Music Association Male Vocalist of the Year Award. In 2005 he won the IBMA Album of the Year and Recorded Event of the Year for his album "40," celebrating his 40th year in bluegrass music.
Recordings for the 1980 release JA034, It's Never Too Late, were produced by Larry Sparks and engineered by Dudley Wilson, Doug Dorshug, and Jack Wright. Musicans included Larry Sparks on lead vocals, lead guitar, and banjo; Glen Duncan on fiddle and harmony vocals; David Bowling on bass; and Tom Boyd on banjo, dobro and harmony vocals.
