Robin and Linda Williams are a husband-and-wife singer-songwriter folk music duo from Virginia. They began their musical association in Nashville, TN in 1971, performing in local clubs. They first appeared on Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion" radio show in 1976, gaining national exposure as the show's audience expanded. They also toured and recorded with Keillor's group, the Hopeful Gospel Quartet. In the summer of 1993 they toured with Mary Chapin Carpenter and later sang on Carpenter's Grammy Award-winning album Stones in the Road. Their 1996 album, Sugar for Sugar, spent 11 weeks in the Top 20 of Gavin's Americana Chart. In 2004, they switched labels, recording Deeper Waters as their first release on Red House Records. Peter Ostroushko (born August 12, 1953) is an American violinist and mandolinist. Of Ukrainian ancestry, he grew up in northeast Minneapolis. He has released numerous recordings and is a regular performer on the "A Prairie Home Companion" radio program.

Recordings for the 1979 release JA031, Dixie Highway Sign, were recorded by Jack Wright and Dudley Wilson and mixed by Jack Wright, Robin and Linda Williams, Peter Ostroushko, and Doug Dorschug at June Appal Studios in Whitesburg, Kentucky. "Dixie Highway Sign" and "Step It Out Nancy" were recorded by Steve Weiss and mixed by Steve Weiss, Robin and Linda Williams, and Peter Ostroushko at Creation Audio in Bloomington, Minnesota. The release was produced by Doug Dorschug, Robin and Linda Williams, and Peter Ostroushko. Musicians included Robin Williams on guitar and lead vocals; Linda Williams on guitar, banjo and vocals; Peter Ostroushko on mandolin, fiddle and vocals; Bob Carlin on bass; Molly Mason on bass; and Jim Watson on bass.
