Rich Kirby was born July 2, 1943 in Cynthian, KY. He plays banjo and fiddle and is a singer, storyteller and writer. He has produced albums for Appalshop's record label June Appal Recordings, including Been A Long Time Traveling with his ballad singer grandmother Addie Graham, and In the Land of Melody with Wade and Julia Mainer. Kirby also appears as a musician on numerous albums, including Hits from Home, and Twins with Tommy Bledsoe. He has served many posts, including station manager, at WMMT-FM at Appalshop in Whitesburg, KY. He lives in Dungannon, VA with his wife Beth. Michael Kline is a musican, folklorist and activist from Elkins, West Virginia.
