Description (Photograph by Cornett of one of his chairs. It is believed to be Cornett's first such rocker of this type, made in late 1961 and "marked by the first notable use of notchings corresponding to turnings on the posts or legs. It was allegedly created because [Cornett] 'couldn't sell the cheap chair, so I just thought up that kinda chair." The pegs are made of black walnut.  Cornett biographer Michael Owen Jones helped to identify the chair and the quoted text is from his book The Handmade Object and Its Maker, UofC Press, 1975.)
